I might be coming back to your blog for more soon.&lt;/p&gt;</description><dc:creator xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Web site hosting</dc:creator><pubDate>Mon, 23 Jan 2012 02:03:19 -0000</pubDate></item><item><title>Re: If the Cubs are entering the 21st century, where are the Twins?</title><link>http://hittingthefoulpole.com/2012/01/13/if-the-cubs-are-entering-the-21st-century-where-are-the-twins/#comment-415428299</link><description>&lt;p&gt;Hey gang, great to have you back.  I haven't checked this thing out in over a month and you are back on!!!!!! &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Regardless, today's topic.  The Twins are archaic when it comes to analysis.  It wasn't until 3 years ago, I believe, that the twins hired that one dude that Sean mentions in his comments.  Ryan, much less so, than BS, is not a stats guy.  With all the blogs and other info, it's tough to ignore now, even for the Twins.  Willingham for example, is a guy they might not have signed 5 or 6 years ago, because of his batting average, strikeouts and perceived glove were bad.  Advanced stats show that he is a more productive hitter than Cuddyer...so maybe there is hope?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Ryan is a significant upgrade in evaluating talent, than BS.  However, let's not forget, that for every good move Ryan has made, he has made bad moves.  He is an average GM, who made one unbelievable trade, a good in season trade, and bailed before making a franchise defining trade and left it up to an office organizer, who was in over his head.  I call that yellow.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Am I happier to have Ryan than BS?  Yes, absolutely.  But are the twins really moving forward with this hire?  Ryan is the guy that always offers low ball contracts and then tells the media an offer was on the table (see Hunter, Santana, Cuddyer ect..).  Cuddyer said not one twins official or player called him to try and convince him to stay.  The Rockies, however, were all over him.  I don't think the twins ever wanted Cuddyer, since they could get the same or better player for cheaper and the draft pick.  Ryan though, got to tell the media buffoons that a contract was out there, so people can think we really, really tried to get him here, and really wanted him.  Right..  This is what he does folks, and it has always driven me crazy.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I can't blame you for not posting much last year.  It was ugly, and it was predictably ugly before the season started.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I am not very optimistic this year either, as it is looking more and more like Morneau is not going to be back or at full capacity.  Keep posting gents!&lt;/p&gt;</description><dc:creator xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Rghrbek</dc:creator><pubDate>Thu, 19 Jan 2012 11:50:49 -0000</pubDate></item><item><title>Re: If the Cubs are entering the 21st century, where are the Twins?</title><link>http://hittingthefoulpole.com/2012/01/13/if-the-cubs-are-entering-the-21st-century-where-are-the-twins/#comment-409820979</link><description>&lt;p&gt;Dave St Peter, the Twins' president, responded the other day to a question on Twitter: &lt;a href="https://twitter.com/#!/TwinsPrez/status/157618679415181312" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" title="https://twitter.com/#!/TwinsPrez/status/157618679415181312"&gt;https://twitter.com/#!/Twin...&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;"Twins rely on scouting + #'s = balanced approach RT@TrickBoughton Just watched #moneyball.
